Hayotbek Turgunov

I'm a software developer and writer with a preference for things that are made carefully. I care about interfaces that feel considered, prose that earns the reader's attention, and software that does exactly what it promises — nothing more, nothing less.

I've spent the last several years building products across the stack — everything from design systems to backend APIs to the kind of internal tooling that nobody talks about but everyone depends on. I'm most at home at the intersection of design and engineering, in the gap where visual thinking and systems thinking have to negotiate.

Outside of work, I read slowly and take a lot of notes. I'm interested in typography, the history of technology, how people think, and the craft of clear writing. I believe most software is underdesigned and most prose is overwritten, and I try to correct for both in my own work.

This site is my way of thinking in public. Posts appear when I have something worth saying, not on a schedule. The projects section collects work I'm proud of.
